Hello all! This is Dr. Trimis, principal of Legacy Visual and Performing Arts High School. If you are receiving this message, you are a current or recent graduate of VAPA. in the next month, the graduates should be exited from the phone dialing system. This is just a quick reminder of upcoming events this summer. on August 12, you will begin receiving weekly phone calls from us with weekly announcements.
Our summer office hours are 8 am to 4 pm.
On July 30-August 1 we will have Show Choir Camp at VAPA from 8:30 to 4 pm. Any students who would like to audition for Show Choir may join us at 8:30 on July 30 in the Music Room.
Band Camp is August 6 through August 10 from 9 am to 12 noon in the Music Room. Any students who play an instrument are encouraged to join band and meet in the Music Room at 9 am on August 6.
Freshman Orientation is August 7 from 8 am to 2 pm in the MPR. Registration Days for 10th through 12th Graders are as follows: 10th grade at 8 am on August 8, 11th Grade at 10 am on August 8, and 12th Grade at 8 am on August 9th.
August 13 is a Pupil-Free Day, a meeting day for teachers and staff, and the First Day of Instruction is Tuesday, August 14, when Period 1 will begin at 8:30 am.
A few quick reminders about our new schedule this year. School will start at 8:30 AM with Period 1 or 4 on a Block Schedule. There is no longer a separate Homeroom class. Most days will end at 3:20. There is no early-release Tuesday, however, there will be 14 LATE-START Mondays. On these days, Period 1 will start at 10 am. We will be providing a tutoring program every Monday from 7 am until Period 1 begins, including Late=Start Mondays.
