EM BUSCA DE UMA HISTÓRIA

Sundaland

Listen Later

Sundaland or Sunda Region is a geographical area of Southeast Asia made up mainly of the Sunda Islands (except Celebes), Bali and the Malacca Peninsula, which formed a large peninsula during the Ice Age.

It is both a geological-historical and biogeographical concept. Geologically it has a correspondence with the Sunda plate, which is why it also includes southern Indochina and the Philippines, bordering on the southeast with the Wallace line, since these regions formed a continuous peninsular area during the Pleistocene. On the other hand, biogeographically, it is considered an ecozone.
