Sunday School January 29th, 2023: A Committed Follower

In this episode, we will explore the concept of leadership and the importance of being a committed follower. Elisha, a farmer tending flocks, was a prime example of a committed follower. When Elijah cast his mantle on him, Elisha left everything behind to follow him. He served and followed Elijah, pouring water into his hands, and never left his side until Elijah was taken up into heaven.

Elisha's commitment to following and serving Elijah earned him a double portion of the anointing. This highlights the importance of learning to follow before taking on leadership roles. Even Jesus, the ultimate leader, personified this by washing the feet of his disciples.

Being a committed follower involves humility, service, and a willingness to learn. It is a vital component of effective leadership.
