Sunday Ambient #111

Listen Later

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s late in the day, but I can’t let the sun go down without posting a new track. I was enjoying the outdoors this weekend before temperatures get crazy hot for the summer, so I didn’t sit down to dabble on the synths until this evening.

I’m still playing around with the Spectraphon, trying to figure it out. It’s a really interesting module for creating new sounds. So many possibilities. Grab some headphones and give a listen.

Patch Notes

Pams does the clocking and Moskwa does the sequencing, with some help from the Lipsk/Erfurt modules for triggering some things. Half of Spectraphon is doing spectral amplitude modulation with a choral sample from the STS. The other half of Spectraphon is doing some FM and some percussive sort of tones with its oscillator. STS is also playing a deep drum sound. Finally, the choral sample was recorded into Morphagene for some mangled droning sort of stuff in the background. Octasource modulates all the things. Fold 6 folds a sine wave from Spectraphon. Popple does a bit of low pass filtering. Mimeophon provides some delay here and there. FX Aid does the reverb, of course. Wow…lots of layers going on. The patch is more complex than I realized it, now that I’ve explained it. :)
