Big Idea: CHANGED HEARTS, CHANGE RELATIONSHIPS.

Following JESUS means loving/lending/helping on HIS terms.

Your spouse, your kids, your coworker… what’s the fine print you’ve attached to your love? “I love you… AS LONG AS.”

JESUS calls us to love without collecting a debt. Do good without demanding something back. Show mercy because HE has shown mercy to YOU.

Before pointing out THEIR speck, own YOUR plank. Humility invites humility.

HIS mercy toward us becomes the pattern for our mercy toward others.

Big Idea: WE FIGHT BY HIS POWER, HIS MIGHT, IN HIS VICTORY.

Following JESUS means standing in HIS strength.

Your spouse, your kids, your coworker…. they are NOT your enemy. The devil wants you fighting one another so you miss the real battle.

God supplies the strength. You SUIT UP. Put on the whole armor of God. Get in the Word. Stay alert in prayer. Stand with one another.

We’re not fighting FOR victory. We’re fighting FROM it. JESUS has already won.

Big Idea: WHO YOU LIVE FOR, CHANGES HOW WE LIVE.

Following JESUS shapes how we treat people at HOME.

Children, obey. Honor doesn’t expire when you grow up. Parents, use your strength to build your children UP. The God who calls them to honor you also cares about how you treat them.

You can share a last name, a home, and a meal… and STILL have your hearts turned away from one another.

You can’t make another person’s heart turn. But you CAN respond to how God is turning YOURS. GOD TURNS HEARTS.

What needs to change in how YOU face the people closest to you?

Ephesians 5:22–33

Big Idea: JESUS is your SOURCE. SATAN is your ENEMY. Your SPOUSE is your COMPANION.

Treat your spouse like the source and you’ll ask them to carry what only Jesus can. Treat them like the enemy and you’ll fight the wrong person.

Most marriages don’t explode. They DRIFT. Drift is just the absence of decision. Choose to love. Choose to serve. Choose to enjoy life TOGETHER.

Stop fighting IN your marriage, and start fighting FOR it. Marriage isn’t a duel, it’s a duet.

Love does not end when the season gets heavy. That’s the moment it’s made for.

Big Idea: YOUR WALK TALKS

For what does it profit a man to keep his SNAPCHAT, but lose his soul?

Our mouths can SAY we trust our Father... but really it’s our steps that tell the story. You ARE LOVED. You ARE LIGHT in the Lord. Now LIVE WISELY.

Stop explaining away what God calls you to put away. Bring what’s hidden into the LIGHT. We all need FLASHLIGHT FRIENDS—people who love Jesus and love us enough to tell us the truth. Who have YOU given permission to shine light into your life?

We can’t keep our hand in the cookie jar and pretend we’re serious about resisting temptation.

Big Idea: WE DON’T PLAN NOT TO FAIL

You don’t FOLLOW JESUS by accident. Put off the old self, be renewed in your mind and put on the new. Let your WALK REFLECT JESUS.

Speak truth. Give grace. Work hard. Share. Be kind. And forgive as Christ has forgiven you. FORGIVENESS IS A GIFT. BITTERNESS IS A PRISON. DON’T LIVE THERE.

Be kind. Let go of resentment. Forgive someone today. Following Jesus is INTENTIONAL.

YOU WEREN’T SAVED TO SIT. YOU WERE EQUIPPED TO BUILD.

Don’t worry about step 27. Just TAKE STEP ONE, because God is a much better Shepherd than we are sheep.

Big Idea: GOD’S POWER IS UNLIMITED, AND IT IS AT WORK IN US

Ephesians 3 gives us the reveal of a mystery that had been hidden for generations: WE ARE ALL ONE FAMILY IN CHRIST.

Through the Gospel, we are FELLOW HEIRS, members of the SAME BODY and partakers of the SAME PROMISE.

The mystery isn’t a thing. THE MYSTERY IS US.

UNITY, NOT UNIFORMITY.

And God didn’t reveal this mystery just so we could know it. He intends to display His wisdom THROUGH THE CHURCH.

THE CHURCH IS GOD’S PLAN A.

Church was never meant to be a solo sport. We open the Word together. We worship together. We pray together. We serve together. We grow together. God is building a people, and He intends to show the world and even the spiritual realm, His wisdom through His Church.

Paul then prays that we would be STRENGTHENED WITH POWER through the Spirit and that we would grasp the breadth, length, height and depth of Christ’s love

WITH ALL THE SAINTS.

We were never meant to grasp it alone.

And then Paul ends with a celebration: God is able to do FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY than anything we could ask or imagine, according to the power already AT WORK WITHIN US. Not just within me. Within US. His power isn’t somewhere out there waiting for us to find it. It is already at work in His people, His family, His Church.

LESS ME. MORE WE.

The mystery isn’t a puzzle you solve. It’s a people you belong to. And the God who revealed it has unlimited power and He put it right here, IN US.

Big Idea: WHEN WE SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US, IT SHOULD CHANGE HOW WE LIVE FOR HIM.

Not out of duty, but out of love.

Ephesians 2 reminds us that we were SEPARATED from Christ, FAR OFF, WITHOUT HOPE and WITHOUT GOD. We were on the outside looking in.

But then everything changes:

BUT NOW, IN CHRIST JESUS.

Those who were once FAR OFF have been BROUGHT NEAR by the blood of Christ. Jesus didn’t merely restore us to God, He also brought us back to ONE ANOTHER. He tore down the dividing wall of hostility, made peace and created ONE NEW PEOPLE in Himself.

In Christ, we are no longer strangers and outsiders. We BELONG. We are fellow citizens, members of God’s FAMILY and part of something much bigger than ourselves.

And this new family has a foundation. Jesus Christ Himself is the CORNERSTONE, the One who gives His Church its alignment, stability, identity and unity.

But God isn’t finished building. In Christ, we are being joined together into a HOLY TEMPLE, a DWELLING PLACE FOR GOD by the Spirit.

Jesus restored us. He established us. And He is building us together.

When we see what God has done for us, it should change how we live for Him... not out of duty, but out of love.

Big Idea: YOU WERE DEAD. BUT GOD. NOW LIVE DIFFERENT.

Ephesians 2 does not describe us as sick, struggling or mostly dead. It says we were DEAD in our sin, BOUND by the course of this world and CONDEMNED as children of wrath.

But then come two of the greatest words in Scripture: BUT GOD.

Because He is rich in mercy and great in love, God MADE US ALIVE with Christ, RAISED US UP with Him and SEATED US with Him in the heavenly places. We are saved by grace through faith, not by our works, not by our record and not by anything we bring to the table.

And grace does not just save us from something. It saves us for something.

We are HIS WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus for good works God prepared beforehand for us to walk in.

You were dead. But God. Now live different.
