Fifty days after the Resurrection, the Gift of the Holy Spirit is imparted to the Believers of the first century. As we prepare our hearts to continually receive a touch of the Spirit’s power, we need to guard out hearts to walk with the correct limp. We desire to wrestle with God, like Jacob, and walk with a ‘limp.’ Unfortunately, some walk with a ‘limp’ which is really church hurt. This trauma can often be handed down knowingly or unknowingly from previous leadership. This Sunday, Pastor David discusses the importance of being empowered by the Spirit and not empowered by the trauma which can trickle down from leaders. “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” John 16:7-11
