Uncomfortable Calling

I. The Call of Christ Is a Holy Invitation

II. The Call of Christ Requires Surrender

Answering the Call of Christ takes:

1. Faith

2. Fortitude

Matthew 20:1-16

"Nothing hurts God's work more than complaining people. It's alarming to see many Christian people complaining. The most happy people are contented people. Whatever you do, be faithful, doing it with all your might, and He will reward you for it."

III. The Call of Christ is Worth the Cost

Philippians 2:12-18

Revelation 3:20

John 14:6

A call to deny self, take up the cross daily, and follow after Christ.

A call of glory and virtue.

A call that we are to remember we have been cleansed from a life of sin.

A call to eternal salvation from sin and death/hell.

A holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

A call to fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in us, and us in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

A call that is all-inclusive and exclusive at the same time. Reserved for those who accept the invitation.

A call to forsake all for Him.

A call to love and allegiance to Christ above ALL.

A call to TRUE rest, to a light burden, and to be yoked with Christ.

A call that has multiplied blessings both now and in eternity.
