He emphasizes endurance — that only those who continue to the end will be saved — and warns that iniquity’s rise will cause love to grow cold unless believers stay spiritually awake, resist false teaching, guard their minds, and refuse to be shaken by the noise of the age. The gospel is still going forth, the world is still unraveling as Scripture said it would, and the church must stay ready rather than get ready.
