Sunday Sermon

Listen Later

Hola,

Big Idea of the Message: The peace of Christ and the word of Christ give us a place to root ourselves in the midst of conflict, and an identity to live out of as we disagree—but with love.

Why: If you and I can get the revelation of wise Christ Centered ways of dealing with conflict this will ensure our church growth. We feel called to serve those who serve NYC and more. My friends there are many para professional, Paramedica, Police officer, Correction officers, NYCHA engineers, people who work on the WIC and HRA team who are very opinionated, strong willed and have various ideologies and geo-political views. We have to prepare our hearts to build a Christ Centered Culture of Compassion, Patience and Peace that comes from heaven.

Remember whether they vote blue or red whether they were born on the wrong side of the tracks

No one is too lost for God to find.

No one is too dirty for God to cleanse.

No one is too broken for God to fix.

No one is too hurt for God to heal.

No one is too far for God to reach.

No one is too guilty for God to forgive.

No one is too sinful for God to save

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength, opinions, perspectives, policies, practices, and politics.

On the personal level high-functioning and more satisfying relationships in all aspects of life. On the career level

applying conflict resolution skills at work can prevent upper management from getting involved. Here are some other benefits:

1. Reduce Stress

If you have a demonstrated competency in conflict management and communication, you’re likely to experience reduced stress at work because if something contentious should arise, you know you can address it rather than having it overwhelm you.

2. Improve Performance

With conflict no longer a frightening thing to catch you off guard, you can put more focus on the task at hand.

3. Demonstrate Competency and Increase Trust

4. Advance to Leadership

Demonstrating the ability to de-escalate employee conflicts in the workplace can support your career path as well

Application Point: Engage life & conflict from the rooted place of humility, love, and worship

Text: Colossians 3:12–17

[Col 3:12-17 NLT] 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves,

you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

13 Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts

. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.

And always be thankful.

16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives

Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives

. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Remember, “Pressure burst pipes — or it makes diamonds.”

Timothy Ferriss — 'A person's success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.'

It’s easier to have tough conversations when you center your life in Christ. In the Lord’s will and ways concerning yourself with the Bride and Body of Christ, the House and family of God.
