Paul planted the church around 50-51A.D. on his second missionary journey (Acts 17). Paul was only there for about 3-4 weeks (Acts 17:1-9) we see Paul coming to Thessalonica and preaching Jesus in the Synagogue. Some of the Jews were persuaded, some became envious (jealous). The Jews got some evil men from the market place to form a mob and attacked the house of Jason (someone who having Paul and Silas stay with them), dragged him before the authorities and accused them of acting against Caesar. They were accused of “turning the world upside down…”
