Sunday Social with Vaughn Davis on RadioLIVE

Sunday Social - 17/12/17

Listen Later

This week Vaughn talks with Emily Vacher from Facebook who leads a programme named Amber Alerts - a missing child alert system.
In New Zealand, the alert sends critical information to anyone on Facebook who is in the local search area.
The details that appear on Facebook are an image of the missing child, their age, and the details of the car or area they were last seen in.
The alert will come through in the middle of a users feed with a picture and a short description... but always the same information. After this, you can choose to 'learn more' and it will give the user more details about the case.
"When kids go missing, people automatically turn to facebook..."
For all this and more, listen to the full interview with Emily above.
Also,
Vaughn talks with Paul Brislen for the last Apps of the Week for 2017, discussing Air BnB, Shazam, and Twitter.
"I'm in the seasonal spirit" - Vaughn.
After booking and paying for a fancy holiday on Air BnB, the owner got in touch asking him to cancel it.... so Vaughn would get the bad rep instead of them!
Paul talks about his "all-time favourite app!" - Shazam - which uses the microphone on your smartphone, listens to the song you want to know about and tells you what it's called.
Tweetstorm feature... what is different about Twitter now?
Also, what the hell is a yurt?
For all this, and to know about the top 10 Instagrammed locations for 2017 - listen to the full audio with Paul above.
