Artificial intelligence promises to change the practice of medicine, from identifying early radiographic signs of stroke to determining the most appropriate second line chemotherapeutic agent for a patient with cancer. But many of the questions around AI involving transparency, judgment, and responsibility are at the very core of the compact that grounds the place of medicine and the identity of persons in our society. In this podcast, we will explore some of the promise offered by AI to the practice of medicine, while considering the profound ethical questions raised by that promise.
