In this message, Pastor Aaron continues our series in Philippians with the Christ Hymn. Like a bridge you can still see through the fog, verse 5 calls us to have the same attitude as Christ: a settled mindset that shapes how we treat one another. Jesus did not insist on His rights; He emptied Himself, became a servant, and humbled Himself to death on a cross. God highly exalted Him, and the ascent vindicates the descent: if we share in His sufferings, we will also share in His glory.

Paul tells a church of proud Roman citizens to live as citizens of a different kingdom. Does your life look like heaven to the people around you?

In week three of our To Live Is Christ series, Pastor Aaron walks through Philippians 1:27–2:4. Paul calls us to conduct ourselves "in a manner worthy of the good news about Christ," standing together and contending for the faith without being intimidated by our enemies. Pastor Aaron names five enemies of our faith, then looks at the encouragement, comfort and fellowship we have in Christ, and calls us to a daily "posture correction" of humility and surrender. As he puts it: "Everyone around you knows where your citizenship is by how you live."
