Welcome to Raven's Readings. I'll be reading from Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, by the Canadian humourist Stephen Leacock. He wrote this in 1912 as an imaginative and ironic portrayal of Mariposa. It's a fictional small town in Canada, modelled after Orillia, Ontario, where he spent many summers. Last reading was all about the Whirlwind Campaign, which was a great success - except for how little money it raised for the church. The folks of Mariposa need a new plan.
