In this episode Scott Becker discusses what drives the super moguls to sell their shares:
The CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella sold half his shares he owns in Microsoft for $285 million. This and the sale by Elon Musk are thought be driven by tax concerns plus diversification efforts plus wanting to take advantage of high market prices.
In Washington State, Nadella faced new taxes of 7 percent. Federally he possibly faces new taxes of 8 percent. Thus, by selling in 2021, he possibly saves nearly 15 percent in taxes or nearly $42 million plus or so.
Musk faced the 8 percent in added federal taxes that are in the house bill.
