While investigating a murder and mysterious fire with Inspector Henderson, Clark Kent discovers grains of kryptonite in the charred remains of a laboratory hidden in a tenement basement. Meanwhile, masquerading as the Finance Minister of Belgravia, the disguised Der Teufel travels through Portugal, Span and France en route to occupied German and his rendezvous with the Nazi underground.
