On this episode of Along the Rock, host Emma Watts sits down with Carli Jonet to talk about the upcoming Be the Difference Volunteer Fair organized by Lifescape Community Services.
This unique event connects community members with local nonprofits and organizations that are looking for volunteers. Instead of a traditional job fair, this event focuses entirely on service opportunities across Whiteside and Lee counties, giving residents a chance to meet organizations face-to-face and find meaningful ways to give back.
Attendees can explore dozens of booths, learn about different missions, and even sign up to volunteer on the spot. Whether you’re a student needing volunteer hours, someone looking to support local causes, or a retiree hoping to stay active in the community, this fair offers something for everyone.
📅 Date: Thursday, April 2
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Location: Sauk Valley Community College – Dixon
The event will feature 20–30 local organizations and nonprofits, all sharing volunteer opportunities and information about how you can get involved in the Sauk Valley.
Nonprofits and community organizations are encouraged to participate. Booth registration is free, and the deadline to sign up is March 20.
