Welcome to Sur Sadhana with Gandhaar Madhyam. In this episode, we introduce to you — Raag Vrindavani Sarang. This raag is also referred to as Brindavani Sarang or Brindabani Sarang. The raag is most popular in Mathura/Vrindavan region, due to a mythological legend involving Lord Krishna. This raag is usually sung in the afternoon, specially during summer season. Ga and Dha sur are varjit in this raag.
We begin by an iconic song from the 60s, followed by the raag parichay and a bandish recital. We conclude the episode with some evergreen filmy songs that are based on this raag.
