Todays guest is Chris Mauro. Chris is a Surfer, a writer, a Lover of life, and a Southern California Surf Industry Staple. Growing up in South Laguna he caught the Surfing Bug early. Being in Laguna he was part of a fast emerging new sport and counter culture...Surfing in the early eighties was more popular than ever and Chris was right there. After pursuing his love for professional surfing and surfing on the elite world dream tour, Chris shifted gears. Chris eventually became a surf writer, landing gigs for the iconic surf magazine "Surfer." At that time the internet was very young if that, and the surf magazine was the supreme content leader. Chris then became Editor and Chief of "Surfer" after his predecessors Steve Hawk and Sam George. Chris worked for "Surfer" for 10 wild years. During that time it was both fun and challenging. Chris would end up leaving the magazine and working for the WSL as the Vice President of Content Programming. After just under 3 years he left the WSL to pursue more interesting side projects, one of which is his fantastic podcast called "People Who Surf Show." It is a great podcast that I highly recommend. Chris has only done a handful of episodes but the ones he has done are well crafted, engaging, entertaining and informative. He is now ready to start season 2 of his "People who Surf" podcast. Chris uses his 30 years of surf knowledge to peel back the stories and give us another look into the past of surfings great history. I checked in on Chris to see how his quarantine was going. I enjoyed my conversation with Chris and I know you will to. Here is my conversation with the talented Mr. Chris Mauro....
