Surfing has changed my life. It is the first sport I've committed to that the only person I compete with is myself, the man i see in the mirror every day.

And because I'm only competing with myself, for the first time, I had nothing to prove for my ego.

Now this ☝🏼️is not 100% true, and my ego has still been a big factor in my surfing game.

But NOTHING like it was in all the traditional "ball" sports I played growing up.

It's just me and my reflection in the water.

And it was catalytic for me in moving towards a new path in being honest with myself.
