Although we think we can self-sufficiently handle anything life throws at us — brokenness, pain, addictions, health issues — self-reliance just doesn’t work. If anything, it moves us further away from the one source of strength and grace that can set us free.

Surrender may look like an act of great weakness and dependence, but it turns out to be the step that actually can put us in touch with the greatest power we’ll ever know.
