Ride hailing drivers are hesitant to enter the community of Surrey, just days after ride hailing was approved across most of Metro Vancouver. Supply could barely keep up with demand as everyone seemed to want to give the new Uber and Lyft options a try.

Surrey councillor Jack Hundial has been a vocal advocate for ride hailing. He took advantage of the new transportation option over the weekend, and also offered to pay the fine for the first operator who bylaw officers target.
