Topic: SURVIVED? THEN, WHAT NEXT? (Part 3)!
Memory Verse: "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me" - Micah 7:8 KJV
Bible Text: Psalm 119:71 KJV
71. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; That I might learn thy statutes.
INSPIRATION: As a survivor, develop yourself by learning practicable ways of compensating yourself. Self-compensation is a major form of looking passed the past as well as a major form of empowerment, because it puts you in control. Generally, compensating yourself for your losses is much more reliable than expecting the persons or organizations that harmed you to do so.
Part of self-compensation is having a mental picture of the things you would like to have, but which, at this moment, you feel are simply not available in the real world. Do not let reality inhibit you. Pretend you can have anything you want because you belong to God who specializes in “calling those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4: 17).
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
The best form of revenge is intentional self-development. Compensate yourself handsomely with it.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please help me not to get trapped in the quest for a revenge from my hurting past at the expense of compensating myself with what has real eternal value. I choose the path of self-development over the pain of wallowing in self-pity, self-blame and playing the victim card. Give me grace, Lord, to live in victory, in Jesus name
