When we were growing up, seeking therapy was unheard of. You either needed to take it to Jesus or to your parents. Nothing leaves the four walls of your home. We love the Lord, Yes we do, but sometimes you need someone to listen, empathize and help you understand that it is perfectly ok to be sad, angry, emotional or in state where it is hard for your to characterize your current state of emotions.
In today's climate, especially now, with this pandemic and all of the anger and division in this world, it can be harder than ever to express how you feel. Therapy is not a bad thing. As moms, we wear this cape that in our eyes, can't be penetrated. Nothing can ROCK us. We have things to do and very little time to get them all done. So NO, there is no time to sit and talk about our emotions, we will do that LATER! No, Life is SOOOOOO hard. It's Ok to seek help. It's ok to cry or scream. It's OK!
Today, we talk to a licensed therapist who specializes in couples and family therapy, Mrs. Katie Onitiri Hageman. She will give us an hour of FREE therapy. A moment to let us all know that it is perfectly ok and healthy to attend therapy and a few tools to help us thru while we all walk along our own paths holding each others hand and never letting go! Survivin'! It's Just What We Do and it's ok to get a little help along the way! Survivin' It's Just What We Do!
