Frank Soos is completing his tenure as Alaska’s Writer Laureate. A popular and respected professor emeritus of English at University of Alaska Fairbanks, Soos has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Forum fellowship, and the Flannery O’Connor Award for his 1998 short story collection “Unified Field Theory.” His latest publication is a book of essays, "Unpleasantries: Considerations of Difficult Questions.” Soos grew up in Pocahontas, Virginia, and is married to artist Margo Klass.
