Welcome back to Season 2 of  Survivor Series Stories. In episode 2, we learn about the origin of Brandyn McGee, aka Cosi. Being born in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Growing up in London. Living in Chicago, DC, Baltimore, and of course Brooklyn, NY. He spoke about how hard it was to transition from London to Brooklyn. He was tired of standing out; in those days, that wasn’t the “cool” thing to do. So, he had to adapt and blend in with his environment in order to fit in. Brandyn was arrested at the age of 13 after being falsely accused of sexual misconduct. He spent 6 months in holding at the Oak Hill Youth Detention Center in Maryland while waiting for trial, where he was ultimately acquitted.Going through that as an innocent minor was traumatizing, and he describes those conditions as well—including how the entire ordeal has affected his relationships to this day. This episode is big for people listening that have similar struggles with identifying with themselves and being open about who they are.
