How does sustainability play a role in the world of economics? Co-hosts Mike Pisit Chintawongvanich and Victoria Choo Zhen Yi speak with Noel Lam, a Senior Associate in Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy at Temasek about the fast-evolving world of sustainable finance. What do video games have to do with environmental sustainability? 

In the second episode co-hosted by EcoSol students, hosts Justin and Ethan critically explore the potential for the video game industry to create a significant impact for the environment. They speak about the role that the video game industry has already contributed to raising awareness about the environmental issues, as well as efforts to decarbonise the video game industry. Whether you’re an avid gamer or not, this episode is a fascinating one that will change the way you see gaming to save the planet!

This year’s summer was one of the hottest on record. As the world battles with the impacts of climate change, it is taking a toll on the mental health of people around the world. ‘Eco-anxiety’ is a term coined to reflect a heightened state of anxiety and worry related specifically to environmental harm caused by human activity and climate change. Young people, whose futures stand to be the most affected by climate change are one of the most vulnerable to experiencing eco-anxiety. What can we do about it? This is the first of two episodes co-hosted by students in Hong Kong from EcoSol, an environmental advocacy group that strives to create sustainable change with Hong Kong students. Ethan and Justin from EcoSol have an insightful discussion with special guest Dr Ans Vercammen, an Imperial College London academic researcher on the intersection between climate and mental-health. This is a raw, engaging episode that will leave you with valuable tips on taking care of your mental health during the on-going climate crisis.

Flynn Devine is the Programme Coordinator from the Alan Turning Institute. He talks about how AI can be used for positive impacts on policy, and governance frameworks for responsible innovation and the ethical development and deployment of AI… as well as his own major projects!

Making a difference to the world starts one school meal at a time, but also requires a systems change. What does this look like in practice? Tune in as host Belinda speaks with the Founder and Chairman of The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS), an international non-profit network of schools working together to help accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. Anthony shares TASS’s vision and approach to make school food more sustainable, and the episode dives into this topic further with a fantastic example of change in action. Students Iris and Yi-Mei join in on the conversation representing Drop In The Ocean, a student-led environmental group at Chinese International School Hong Kong. As co-organisers of the student-led Sustainable School Food Summit that took place in Hong Kong this Earth Day, the students share their key takeaways from the Summit.
