श्रुतानुमानप्रज्ञाभ्यामन्यविषया विशेषार्थत्वात् ॥४९॥

śruta-anumāna-prajñābhyām-anya-viṣayā viśeṣa-arthatvāt ||49||

It has different objects from those of verbal and inferential cognition as it refers to particulars.

The purpose of this sutra is to explain that inferential and testimonial perception can only verify the generically-arrived at consensus of collectively-held knowledge. The particular characteristic of truth-bearing knowledge cannot be verified by such means. It is beyond.
