As adults there is always a repeat of how we swore we would never say or do certain things our mothers or fathers did. However, truth be told in the heat of the moment, we find ourselves repeating exactly the same behaviour.
How do we recognise, change and stop this type of behaviour? Take responsibility for our actions and raise emotionally intelligent children.
Joining in this spicy conversation is certified child psychologist and author Morenike Adejuwon (instagram @rennyade_ju_won OR www.rennyadejuwon.com). Let's be honest we need to debunk some naija parenting myths.
For change to happen there has be shedding of the old for the new to break forth. We can change our story one day at a time, a kind act or word, deliberately seeking the best in each other. Our society isn't perfect, yet we have the power to make it a safe haven for all; most especially the vulnerable. True power and influence is only celebrated when it is used to elevate the plight of the weak, poor and vulnerable. Dare I say when all men and women are seen and treated as equal.
Joining me in this conversation is Ayobami Olunloyo ( author blog: My Nigerian Dream // instagram @ayobami.olunloyo)
Nigeria will ARISE when we start the change within ourselves.
In the wake of the recent shocking events in Nigeria, I am sure alot of us have been left wondering how and when did things get so bad? I believe we are all awake now and can fulfil the dream of the NIGERIA we envision. A land truly free from oppression, corruption, inequality and poverty. However, before we get to the promise land we have to rid ourselves of toxic conditioning, joining me in this conversation is Ayobami Olunloyo ( author of blog: My Nigerian Dream \\ instagram @ayobami.olunloyo)
Welcome to the dawn of a NEW NIGERIA!
Keeping in mind that WISDOM can save our lives Naomi and I keep on the conversation about life lessons. What we wish we knew or understood to be marriage and self love. Adulting is truly about foresight and hindsight wouldn't you agree?
Yes we said it! Just had to get a few things off our chest, lockdown hysteria and more......
It's been 2months since the UK has officially been on lockdown. Truth be told the beginning of it was a very scary experience, however several weeks in and we have been able to gather our feelings into words. Naomi and I share our fears and how we cope with our family life, even on days we just want to escape. We definitely know we are not alone!
Things I wish I knew before my 30s: In this episode guest host Naomi and I reflect on how our emotions and perception shaped our vision of adulting. Journey with us as we discuss how we get trapped in comparing ourselves / controlling behaviour and how assumptions can leave you in hole.
