Theatre by the Bay is hosting the first ever Simcoe County Theatre Festival scheduled for sometime this June. Deadline for submissions of one-act scripts as well as director expressions of interest from directors is February 26. Theatre on the Ridge has just announced that Uju Umenyi has been chosen as their playwright-in-residence for 2022 to create the Story of Samuel Stout, an escaped slave who arrived in Scugog and lived a full life there. They’re planning on presenting the play in September of this year.
