What type of parent are you? Do you hover? Are you a yeller with no reinforcements? Or are you the friendly type… tune in as we discuss the many styles of parenting and if we’re apart of the problem when it comes to how our children operate with others, or just in society alone.

Parenting styles: 
The Permissive Parent: Child driven; Rarely gives or enforces rules; overindulges the child to avoid conflict

The Authoritative Parent: Solves problems together with the child; sets clear rules and expectations; open communication and natural consequences

The Neglectful Parent: uninvolved or absent; provides little nurturant or guidance; indifferent to child’s social/emotional and behavioral needs

The Authoritarian Parent: parent-driven; strict rules and punishment; one-way communication, with little consideration of child’s social-emotional and behavioral needs
