  • Where Do We Go From Here?

The votes are cast, but the feelings don’t disappear when the polls close. How do we wake up Wednesday morning and face whatever comes next? And how do we handle the anxiety leading up to the midterms without letting it consume us?

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, Josh and Dustin talk about the people behind the politics: the family members, friends, and neighbors who voted differently from us. How do we bridge that gap when something feels like a policy disagreement to one person and deeply personal to another?

We’re talking honest conversations, boundaries, protecting our peace, and finding places to connect without compromising our values. We may not have all the answers, but we’re making room for the conversation—with a little sweet tea and, naturally, some side eye.

  • Out of the Closet, Into Our Truth

Coming out is rarely simple—and sometimes the people who help you find your voice are the ones you least expect.

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, we’re celebrating National Coming Out Day by sharing our own stories. Josh looks back on coming out in high school, the unexpected people who helped him through it, the people he loved, and where those relationships stand today.

Then Dustin shares how love led him out of the closet. Even when Bible verses and pressure to return to his old ways came his way, he kept choosing to be true to himself—and that’s one of the many reasons we love him.

Pour yourself a glass of sweet tea and join us for an honest conversation about love, faith, friendship, and finding the courage to live out loud. Whether you’re out, still figuring things out, or supporting someone you love, there’s a seat at our table for you. ????

  • HAPPY PRIDE !!!

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, we’re celebrating Atlanta Pride! We’re looking back at its history, sharing our favorite Pride moments, and talking about how we’re celebrating this year.

Alongside the joy, we’re making space to remember Matthew Shepard—his life, his legacy, and the heartbreaking hate that led to his murder. Pride is a celebration, but it’s also a time to honor those we’ve lost and remember why we keep showing up.

Lean in, pour yourself a glass of sweet tea, and join us as we reflect on our past and celebrate living out loud. ????????

  • Limp Wrists & Loose Assumptions

“Light in the loafers.” “Limp wrist.” “He’s got a little sugar in his tank.”

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, we’re talking about the queer stereotypes we heard growing up—and the ones people are somehow still saying out loud. Are any of them true? Where did they come from? And why did everybody’s aunt think she could tell a boy was gay because he liked to dance?

Listen, maybe I am light in my loafers with a limp wrist. That just means I can wave goodbye with flair while I walk away from your nonsense. ????

Come laugh with Josh and Dustin as we sort through the stereotypes, call out the ridiculous ones, and admit which ones might have us feeling a little too seen. ????????

  • 25 Years Later: Queer Courage on 9/11

Twenty-five years later, we’re looking back at September 11, 2001—the moment we first heard the news, what we remember most, and how that day forever changed the way we saw the world.

In this episode, we reflect on the fear, grief, confusion, and overwhelming sense of unity that followed 9/11. We talk about how much America has changed over the past 25 years—and the difficult reality that some things have remained exactly the same.

We also honor the queer heroes who stepped forward that day and in the weeks that followed—people whose courage is part of the American story, even when their identities have been overlooked. Their stories remind us that bravery has no political party, patriotism has no sexual orientation, and pride in our country does not belong exclusively to the right.

This is a conversation about memory, loss, courage, division, and what it truly means to be an American. Twenty-five years later, we remember where we were, honor every hero, and ask ourselves: Have we become the country we promised one another we would be?

  • Too Much for Who?

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately wondered if you needed to turn yourself down a notch?

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, Josh and Dustin are talking about what it means to be told—or simply made to feel—that you’re “too much.” Too loud. Too opinionated. Too dramatic. Too colorful. Too queer. Just… too much.

For a lot of queer people, there can be an unspoken pressure to make ourselves a little smaller, a little quieter, and a little easier for everyone else to digest. But at what point do we stop adjusting ourselves to make other people comfortable?

We’re digging into our own experiences, the times we’ve questioned whether we needed to tone ourselves down, and what we’ve learned about taking up space without apologizing for it. Because maybe being “too much” was never actually the problem. Maybe we were just in rooms that expected less of us.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Sweet Tea & Side Eye without plenty of laughs, questionable opinions, a little Sweet Tea, and some well-deserved Side Eye.

So pour yourself a glass and join us as we ask the question: Too much for who?

  • Why Labels Matter

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, we’re diving into the growing “I’m Gay, Not Queer” movement and what it means for the LGBTQ+ community. We share our thoughts on labels, identity, and why distancing ourselves from other members of our community can ultimately hurt all of us.

Are we getting so caught up in the differences between us that we’re losing the bigger picture? As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We talk about why standing alongside our queer, trans, nonbinary, bisexual, lesbian, and gay siblings matters—and why none of us should assume that someone else’s fight has nothing to do with us.

We also take time to remember Dolly Parton and reflect on the love, acceptance, and kindness she showed throughout her life, including the impact she had on generations of LGBTQ+ people.

It’s a conversation about identity, community, grief, and remembering that even when we don’t agree on everything, we’re stronger when we stand together.

  • The Dead Moms Club

This week’s episode of Sweet Tea & Side Eye is The Dead Moms Club.

We’re joined by the incredibly talented Lauren-Michael Sellers as she shares her love of music, how she got her start on The Voice, and how songwriting has helped her tell the stories that are sometimes too painful to say out loud.

Together, we have an honest conversation about losing our moms, the trauma those relationships can leave behind, and the complicated reality of grief. Because even after our mothers are gone, our relationships with them continue to change. We’re still unpacking the hurt, holding on to the love, and learning how to live with everything left unsaid.

It’s raw, vulnerable, healing—and filled with beautiful music. Grab your sweet tea and join us for The Dead Moms Club.
