Pecan (Petersfield Climate Action Network), Hampshire Swifts and Petersfield EcoChurch set up together on Saturday at St Peter's Churchyard for the first day of Swift Action Week.

They were asking people to put up a nesting box for swifts, needed as declining eves space reduces swift numbers. There were children's activities and plenty of information.

Melanie Oxley and Liz Vickers from Pecan spoke to Mike Waddington and Catherine Dale, from Hampshire Swifts, explained how successful the boxes have been, based on almost a decade's data collected in Winchester.

Pecan have a talk about Swift's Migratory patterns on Monday 30 June at 7pm at the United Reform Church.
