By far Sam's favorite track 5 and a song that he feels is an overall deeply underrated song. Rachel connects with it through her reading of the book Rebecca. Together, we discuss how powerful this song is and, although this was presented as another fictitious story about "other people," we naturally wonder how Taylor's personal experience with her relationships were likely the inspiration for writing this gripping and empowering song.

We are BACK baby! And this time with a new song??? A new single for a new era maybe??? A deluxe track for The Life of a Showgirl??? We still don't have the answers but we are thrilled that Taylor has moved and we can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts, theories, and predictions for what this means. Taylor interviewed and performed at the Grammy's Museum Icon Sessions and we have LOTS to say about it!!! That mashup was the most superior thing she's done for us in a LONG time. We ponder the song of the week and how Taylor was very vulnerable in it. She literally said the name of the subject which is something that we don't think would ever happen if this song came out today. It's very meta too, as she is singing about writing songs and the reasons for it all. Without those teardrops on her guitar, we simply wouldn't be here today.

The song we discuss this week absolutely wrecked us upon first listen and has continued to move us ever since. So we lighten the mood first by discussing our takes on the best 3-song run in Taylor Swift's entire discography. Our new shit covers Charli XCX's new album and its major shift from Brat, and Phoebe Bridgers releasing an album in the summer which feels out of character for her. We delve into the song of the week and share how this song is a highlight on the entire Life of a Showgirl album for us. The playful, flirty energy leading into the saddest twist that we absolutely did not see coming had us confused, intrigued, and in tears by the end. A major point to discuss was why Taylor released this song in this era and how her healing over recent years has allowed her to reflect.

We had a fun little Chitty Chatty Bang Bang at the beginning of this episode, discussing everything from Debut (Taylor's Version) to the Emmy's. Will she be an EGOT winner at somepoint? Mirrorball is one of Sam's favorite songs, and it seems as though Rachel has a realization in this episode that it might actually be her favorite song too! It's one of her most honest and heartfelt songs, with us, the fans, as the subject. Without this song, her entire career feels incomplete, and that's exactly what we break down in this episode.

We are back together in person and recording from an actual cocktail bar!!! Because we find ourselves in sunny San Diego, Rachel came up with the idea to form a beach playlist featuring one song from each Taylor Swift album. We take turns debating and stealing songs from each other that fit the vibe. Did we get it right? Let us know! Our song of the week follows Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married at Madison Square Garden, so we naturally reflect on how Taylor has matured in her confidence as a celebrity. She looks to other stars before her like Britney Spears, Joni Mitchell, and Stevie Nicks as inspiration for this song. Of course, Taylor has covered this topic several times throughout her discography, but The Lucky One marks one of the earliest times we've heard her reflect on her level of fame and what lessons she was learning at the time of writing this song.

Taylor and Travis are married!!!!!! Of course, we just had to talk about it, and boy are we excited and a little confused by it all. Also, it's Sam's birthday! So naturally we had to choose his namesake song to discuss for this week. Kind of a sad song to be doing on an otherwise joyous week, but it's one of the best off TTPD and reveals a lot of truth behind what Taylor was thinking once she ruined the friendship with a certain English bloke.

Well, well, well, the month of July is here which takes us to the Lover album! Rachel has rehearsed the bridge to this song for weeks and she finally has her moment to shine in this episode!! But first, we absolutely had to discuss the iconic night that Taylor Swift was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, becoming the youngest woman IN HISTORY to acheive this honor! We also have an entire discussion on TS 13 and what our hopes and dreams are for the next album! Olivia Rodrigo is without a doubt our new shit of the week, and no surprise, Rachel cries. This album is so good though!

Death By A Thousand Cuts is a very curious song, both in its production and its lore. Taylor writes from a hypothetical perspective, having been inspired by a movie she saw that includes memories and flashbacks of a profound relationship within New York City. It's the perfect inspiration for Taylor pondering what might happen if she never walked Cornelia Street again....

It's a *Tay Story* and baby we just said YES!!! We are absolutely loving the Toy Story/Taylor Swift crossover, and the song for the new film is a dream! When worlds collide like this, we are left feeling blessed, seen, and utterly satisfied. We also have a discussion on how we just know Debut (Taylor's Version) will be coming out this year; the coming home imagery of "I Knew It, I Knew You," the 20th anniversary, the easter eggs.....it's definitely happening, right?! We also have a considerate discussion about the rumors that Taylor and Travis are getting married at Madison Square Garden. It's weird, but also kind of sensible. Tell us what you guys think!

As we welcome in the 6th month of the year, our song this week is brought to us by the 6th album REPUTATION! Sam was delighted to have the honor to choose a song from his favorite album, and what better selection than one of the most iconic from the album and an absolute powerhouse of a song. Taylor doesn't so much "clap back" at the media in this song, but presents a defense as to her behavior and why she is who she is. She also might be struggling with a drug addiction, but she's unapologetic and confident and LORD SAVE US Taylor Swift made us crazy. If she doesn't make you crazy then you just ain't doing it right....
