NEWS | eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant addressed the National Press Club on the Under-16 Social Media Ban.
Her speech, titled "Swimming Between the Digital Flags," offered no specifics on how age verification will be implemented. This lack of clarity appears to be a deliberate move to deflect growing public frustration in Australia.
We did learn that YouTube will not be exempt from the ban, but Julie did acknowledge that despite the ban, now termed ‘delay’, social media platforms can be accessed in a ‘logged out’ state.
