Even death touches the young..
Little Anne is on the swing set as most little girls her age tend to do. Her nose wrinkles as she looks up into the sun. Richard is an old man, chatting right along with her on the swing set.
Anne is a child and death is knocking on her door. Richard has lived his life and hates the fact that a child who hasn't had the chance to live will never get the chance.
You will fall in love with little Anne and feel Richards pain as she freely understands that her days are short. The little girls face is still in my head as she tells Richard that she is okay with the fact she is dying, and my heart aches as I see Richard looking at this young girl as she swings on the swing set.
I wished I could have given this higher than a five star rating, because it deserves just that. You will feel the pain and sadness, and the ending will make you think...
A must have and a must read for any who enjoy fiction! Alex Issa, you have a fan in me from this day forward!
