In today's episode, we're going to explore the impact of your environment on your outlook and perspective. And hey, we'll also discuss when it's time to switch things up.
So, let me start by sharing a recent experience I had. I took a trip to beautiful Newport Beach, California, all the way from my rural town in Oregon. Now, if you've been to Newport Beach, you'll know that it's a place that can either capture your heart or leave you feeling indifferent. For me, it's not where I'd want to live permanently, but let me tell you, it's a magical place to expand your horizons.
The trip was part of a leadership event organized by the social selling company I'm partnered with. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues and the corporate team in person, something we don't often get to do in today's online-centric world. It made me realize how many of my relationships are long distance or online. Maybe you can relate?
Getting out of my regular environment and immersing myself in a new one was a powerful reminder of two things. First, the abundance that exists in the world. Sometimes we forget the vast opportunities and possibilities available to us when we're caught up in our day-to-day routines. Seeing the bustling airport, encountering diverse people with their own stories and dreams, reminded me of the world's vastness and the potential that lies within it.
The second lesson was the impact of a different physical environment. When you step outside your usual surroundings and experience something new, it heightens your senses and allows you to see things more deeply. In my case, being surrounded by the ocean's expansiveness and breathtaking views in Southern California was awe-inspiring. It reminded me of the importance of variety and how it can rekindle inspiration and energy within us.
You see, even if you live in a stunning location, without variety, it's easy to take it for granted. We become busy and overlook the small things that used to inspire and ground us. Our physical environment plays a significant role in our outlook and perspective. If it doesn't align with our goals or evoke the feelings we desire, it's time to take action.
So, here's your call to action. Take a moment to evaluate your current environment as you listen to this episode. Look around and ask yourself if it matches the goals you've set for your life. Does it make you feel abundant and expansive? Does it shift your perspective in alignment with your aspirations? If not, it's time for change.
Start with small shifts, like decluttering or rearranging your furniture. Working from a different location, such as a coffee shop or a hotel lobby, can also bring a fresh perspective. And don't forget to schedule getaways to new places that inspire you, whether it's the ocean, the mountains, or an exciting city. Your goals deserve an environment that supports their growth.
Before we wrap up, if you found value in this episode, we'd be thrilled if you could take a moment to give us a five-star rating and leave a written review wherever you listen to podcasts. Your support helps us reach more incredible women like you who can benefit from these discussions.
Thanks for tuning in, my awesome listeners! Remember, you have the power to shape your environment and create a life filled with inspiration and growth. Until next time, take care and keep seeking the extraordinary!
