In this Shadowdark session the party ventures into a gnarled wood after loggers fell a pristine moonlit birch. They rescue a trapped woodcutter from sap-like oozes, confront strange glowing moths that extinguish fire, and decipher rune-marked stones in a misty glade.

The group ultimately recovers a beating birch "heart," uncovers a mithril short sword with moonlight power, and departs with a fast horse and uneasy village politics—facing hard choices about the forest's fate.
