- Should the king’s insomnia be seen as an act of divine guidance which leads to the reading of the chronicles? (6:1)
- Did Haman’s wife & friends not know that Mordecai was a Jew before their declaration of Haman’s inability to succeed against him? (6.13; cf. 5.13)
Chapter 7 Summary and Questions:
- Was Esther’s hidden Jewish identity key to the Jew’s salvation? (7:3)
- Does the king really not remember agreeing to Haman’s plot? (7:5; 3:10-11)
Chapter 8 Summary and Questions:
- Why is it important to know that Haman was the son of Hammedatha? (8:5; 3:1, 10)
- Which people in their right mind would still attack the Jews after this new edict had been decreed? Shouldn’t this eliminate the potential for any conflict? (8:11)
- How would people become Jews? That seems stronger than the language of being a proselyte. (8:17)

- Why was the author so concerned about the feast of Purim fading from their memory? (9:28)

- Why was it important to note that Mordecai rose to be second in command? (10:3)
- Does the Church have authority to prescribe festival days/holy days? (see 9.29, “gave full written authority”)
