At least four mosques and prayer centres in Western Sydney have announced memorial services for the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei following his death in targeted strikes. Mosque officials report their community is deeply affected by the loss, with one describing him as one of the biggest Islamic scholars who was well respected. Premier Chris Minns has condemned the vigils, calling the mourning of the Ayatollah 'atrocious'.
