Feature Summary of Thymic Carcinomas

Thymic carcinomas are histologically similar to their counterparts arising in other organ sites; and their diagnosis relies on 
1) anterior mediastinal location, 
2) lack of carcinoma of other organ sites, 
3) co-existing lymphocytic component, and 
4) immunophenotypes of thymic origin.
