In this Mar10 Day episode, we revisit some familiar games. Tom has grown more comfortable with his Xbox purchase and successfully resisted the Mar10 Day Nintendo bundle sales. Myron is itching for The Division 2 release, so much so that he bought the “addiction” price package to gain early access. JT has been a busy little bee playing Galaxy of Heroes, so much so that she has several 85th level characters now. JT continues to entice Anna and Myron to join the dark side. Tom even offers up spots in his guild, but so far Anna and Myron remain part of the resistance.
Finally, we discuss some recent online tabletop gaming. We had to postpone a recent D&D session and instead played some Ticket to Ride on Steam. Unfortunately, poor instructions and game design led us into playing on a 7-minute timer that ran out before anyone could complete the game. We compare the Ticket to Ride debacle to the seamless online transition of Dominion. As board games continue to grow in popularity companies that create successful online versions will reap the benefit, while others like Ticket to Ride may end up losing out as folks request refunds thinking the game is broken due to poor design.
