Tafseer Surah Al Mulk 03

Listen Later

Tafseer of Ayahs 12 - 15 of Surah Mulk
Oct 10, 2010.
Surah Mulk
Surah 67
30 Ayat
Verses 12 -15
Dawah should be based on Tawheed – an introduction to what He has created.
Rujoon Ash Shayateen – can also refer to the evil of people who cause mischief.
The stars in the sky created by ALLAH have three purposes:
They adorn the sky
Repel shayateen
They are signs by which you can navigate the land’’Those who turn away from Allah are those who will end up in the fire. A terrible place, and when they see the truth they will be in regret.
Verse 12:
Inna – Indeed, certainly, surely
Fear the Lord unseen can mean 1. Fear Allah even though we don’t see him 2. Bil ghayb – can also mean absent, those who feared their Lord in absence (alone).
Iman manifests itself in private as well. It is to be humble before Allah. For these people is an exclusive forgiveness.
Ghafara – forgiveness (to cover [sins])
Ajr – is great reward or compensation
Allah speaks about reward, a great compensation then speaks not only about ghafara but “maghfira” which is complete forgiveness, wiping of the slate and not just a covering of sins
Why does Allah mention forgiveness first – because this frees you from the punishment of the fire of hell. And the burden of Jahannam is removed from the people who fear Allah. So first the harm is removed and then the benefit is made. Alhamdulilah.
Kabeer – GREAT, fits better with the theme of the Surah.
Verse 13
Asirroo – to say secretively (even the whispers are included)
A wij haro – Openly
Allah knows what is hidden in the chest (sudoor) (Reflect – Allah knows everything)
A la – is asking a rhetorical question.
Mun khalaq – mun (object) Of course, Allah is informed of what he has created.
Al Lateef – Subtlety – soft and gentle, merciful (paying great attention and detail). The maintainer of every aspect of our lives
Al Khabir – Completely informed
Verse 13 and 14
Be aware of your actions, realise what you are doing.
Verse 15
Ja’ala- created exclusively
Thalool – hyperbole in refernce to the earth. Allah created it manageable. Ways the earth is manageable – it is easy to traverse – not rocky or sharp or spiky or rough or mountainous. It is made soft and pliable for digging yet firm enough to build upon
Manakib – from mankab which means shoulder. Can be a sign of strength or an expression which means to explore the earth from all sides. Or that the shoulders of the earth are the mountains. Or that the shoulders of the earth are like a camel – strong but submissive.
Wakaloo – Mutawakkil – Trust in Allah, this means to do your best and leave the rest to Allah. Place your seed in the earth and trust Allah to let it grow.
Nashr – (to spread out) unfold oneself out of the grave. To be resurrected or returned from the earth and held accountable by Allah.
