Taiwan’s APEC envoy Morris Chang has returned to Taiwan after attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Papua New Guinea last week. The retired founder of chipmaker TSMC said he has successfully completed the mission given to him by President Tsai Ing-wen.
During his trip, Chang held a 20-minute talk with US Vice President Mike Pence. He told Pence that Taiwan is interested in holding negotiations with the US about signing a Free Trade Agreement. Taiwan’s foreign ministry said the meeting will help strengthen regional connections in inclusive growth and digital development.
