Palm Springs, the fabled California desert town, is known as an attractive getaway destination for many travelers. It’s especially popular in the winter months when much of the country is dealing with cold temps. People come for the warm weather and sunshine, the range of outdoor activities, delicious food and vibrant arts scene. I’ve been to Palm Springs several times in the past, always in the winter or early spring months. However, my most recent visit occurred in summer. It was a quick stopover during a road trip with my husband from Santa Fe to L.A. to visit family.
