Greetings, hosers!
The History and Legacy of “Mystery Science Theater 3000”, Chapter 13: Sunset on the Satellite.
It turns out my ax against “Hamlet” hasn’t been fully ground yet, because we still have two more movies to discuss, both of which use the play in very different ways. Ernst Lubitsch and Jack Benny burn the Nazis with “To Be or Not to Be” and, most importantly, “SCTV” (kinda) comes to the big screen with the McKenzie Brothers in “Strange Brew”!On the MST3K Front, a guy who looks like Tony Perkins becomes a Bat-Man (copyright DC Comics) in “It Lives by Night” and it’s time for a Biblical Epic revelation with a Detour through “The Robe”. Just when you think you had this podcast pegged….Gently apply your Mary Tyler Moore wigs, politely tell Caligula to stuff it, and snag some pictures of Spider-Man with your wonky yet affable host!
