The 2022 floods in Brisbane resulted in more than 240,000 insurance claims with a total value of $6 billion.

With Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaching, many are preparing for the possibility of doing these insurance claims all over again.

Sarah Orr from Compare the Market told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "It doesn't hurt to take photos, because insurers will be assessing lots of claims."

"If you have evidence that your property was damaged, then you may be able to pass through the process a little bit faster."
