The cross has become the most recognizable symbol of Christianity. Matthew 16:24. "If any man will" shows an open invitation. "Deny himself" show there is a cost, mans sinful nature must die. "Take up his cross" shows action not a passive life. It also shows that God does not force man. "Follow Me" shows that we must follow and show a desire to be like Christ. Matthew 27 John 19
