Taking a walk down memory lane is something we should do more often

Today was Kane’s Gran’s 90th birthday. She’s a wee old Scottish gran who has had a tough life.
It was great hearing about her life and how she made it from Glasgow to Melbourne and all the stories along the way. All those little coincidences like little pieces of string that had to come together.
Sometimes memories are good, sometimes bad and sometimes weird, but they are memories and they are what we are made of.
Each of us are built of blocks of memories that all fit together to form each of us.
The point is that everything we learn, from how to play with others, how to resolve conflicts, how we maintain relationships, makes us who we are and are from our memories.
Our lives are soaked in these memories.

Gender roles are changing and blending together and the stay-at-home dad or part time dad population is growing.
More fathers than ever are participating in their children's nurturing and upbringing.
The thing is that fathers and mothers come into the parenting process differently though. For the mother, the connection is biological. It's a part of her.
Fathering, on the other hand, is less so. Therefore, it's important for men to learn the skills they need to be a good dad. For some guys it's more intuitive, like kicking a football, but most guys need a coach or some direction.
