I have often been called cold because I do not attach myself to the issues of others, and many times...my delivery is curt and not so warm. Today's world is full of issues and it seems like someone is always going through something. And whole relatable and understandable, it's also exhausting to be the shoulders in which a lot of people find comfort in resting their problems on. And for a long time I allowed it to take over me. I absorbed their issues and made them my own because of how empathetic I was. Then I realized that those I was there for, weren't showing up for me when I needed it, and most importantly I realized the damage that was doing to myself. So I stopped.
